Healthy Foundations exists to serve the needs of the individual and families affected by Behavioral Health and Substance use Disorders in a faithful, full service, and caring environment.

Our gifted staff includes Physicians, Mental Health Professionals, Certified Addiction Counselors, Board Certified Life Coaches, Pastoral Care, and Transitional Specialists.
We offer services to meet the needs of the whole person including full Behavioral Health assessments, Substance Use and Behavioral Health counseling, short-term residential detoxification support, Life Coaching, human trafficking services (counseling, Restoration House, social acclimation, reentry).
Research agrees that a firm faith-based system of care along with proven medical and psychological methodology will give the client and their family better chances for healing and recovery.
Dr. Whitesel is licensed and ordained by the Church as a Christian Counselor. He is a founder, Board member and Director of Development for “Healthy Foundations, Inc.” He is endorsed nationally by the Southern Baptist Convention and North American Mission Board as a Chaplain and Christian Counselor. He holds a B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of West Georgia where he was appointed to Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. He holds a master’s in religious education as well as a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Counseling. Dr. Denny also holds a Ph.D. in Christian Counseling from Covington Theological Seminary. Certified in Suicide Prevention and a “Grief Recovery Specialist” he is very active in community Drug Prevention and is also a Georgia Preventionist. He is an advanced Pastoral Crisis Interventionist helping others to abstain from Substance Use Disorders.
As a frequent speaker for various groups and organizations, he is an advocate for Drug Prevention. He is a member of the Georgia Dept. of Behavioral Health Regional Advisory Council representing Region 1 in Northwest Georgia. He is author of the book “Counseling the Counselor”.
Katherine currently provides CEO leadership and oversight to Healthy Foundations, Inc., bringing visionary design and solutions for behavioral health (BH) and substance use disorder (SUD), the most fragile population. Most recently she successfully implemented a fully integrated medical and behavioral healthcare model in two counties of Washington state, creating a repeatable, flexible model bringing commercial, federal, and state care together. The Program is in its second year, continues to perform, within budget and care expectations, proven by proposals to Congress at a national level. Healthy Foundations design leverages this expertise to create affordable, sustainable solutions that really work!
Katherine is President of eM3 Healthcare Consulting, a major contributor to health insurance payers over the past nine years. Over the past 25 years, her professional contributions bring technical and business solutions to the complex world of health insurance, e.g. Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, health information technology. Clients, employers, and strategic partners include Ernst & Young Consulting, Accenture, Cigna, Aetna, 17 different Blue Cross Blue Shield companies, Molina Healthcare, WellCare, Cook’s Children Healthcare, EmblemHealth of New York City, and many others.
Katherine is uniquely qualified and motivated, knowing the removal of barriers and providing BH and SUD solutions require spiritual God-sized answers. Proverbs 24:11 is her foundation: “Deliver those drawn toward death (suicide or otherwise) and hold back those stumbling to the slaughter.”
